Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that on July 26 Marine Unit Deputies arrested 45-year-old David Traina of Cheektowaga for BWI in the Niagara River.
Traina was escorted to shore where he failed multiple standard field sobriety tests and registered a BAC more than twice the legal limit. The subject was charged with misdemeanor counts of operating a vessel while intoxicated, operating a vessel with .08% BAC or more and improper use of a searchlight. He was also charged with a navigational law violation.
The defendant was released on tickets for a future court date.
