Emery Park Baseball Diamond Damaged by 2 Trucks

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies Malican and Mulhern met members of the East Aurora Police Department January 6 to investigate county park damage and a pickup truck stuck on a baseball diamond.

Two vehicles were observed around 8:30 PM in the middle of the diamond and a tow truck was required to winch the pickup back onto the roadway. Erie County Park Rangers estimated that the operators damaged approximately 750 feet of the field. Two drivers and a passenger were arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief for recklessly damaging property.

The three individuals, one from North Collins, one from Marilla and the third from East Aurora, are scheduled to be in Aurora Town Court on January 18.

Park Rangers will photograph the damage and estimate the dollar amount of damage caused during this incident.
