17-year-old Male Victim Airlifted to ECMC following Grand Island Crash

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies and the Crash Investigation Unit responded to a single-vehicle crash in Grand Island on May 21 at approximately 9:45 P.M.

 

Initial reports were of a vehicle leaving the roadway along Staley Road and striking a tree.  When Grand Island Fire Company and Deputies arrived, they found the solo occupant unconscious and not moving.

 

The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center with internal and lower body injuries.

 

The operator of the vehicle is a minor, and his name will not be released.

 

The Crash Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of the crash.
