Operator had Surgery due to Internal Injuries Suffered in Crash
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Sheriff’s Snowmobile Unit is investigating a crash that occurred February 4 sometime during the night on a snowmobile trail in Sardinia.
The Sheriff’s Snowmobile Unit and Sardinia fire personnel met associates of the victim at an intersection of the trail and traveled to the crash scene, where first aid was administered. The victim, a male in his late forties from Cattaraugus County, was transported to Erie County Medical Center via Mercy Flight where he had surgery for internal injuries and broken bones.
The Snowmobile Unit is still investigating the cause of the crash.
