One Driver had a Warrant and the Other Driver Struck a Parked Car

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports his Deputies made two DWI-Drug arrests over the past two days.

May 18, 12:42 A.M., Town of Clarence – Deputy Arney conducted a traffic stop near 8171 Main Street for vehicle and traffic violations.  While investigating the operator, the Deputy discovered Damone Freeman, 48, of Buffalo had an active warrant and took the subject into custody.

Deputy Lundberg arrived to assist and interviewed Freeman.  Deputy Lundberg observed signs of impairment and requested Sheriff Drug Recognition Expert Deputy Nati.  After Deputy Nati’s evaluation, Freeman was arrested and charged with DWI-Drugs, a felony count of criminal possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and two separate vehicle and traffic violations.  Freeman remains at the Erie County Holding Center on $10,000.00 cash bail.

May 18, 10:54 A.M., Town of Concord – Deputy Kelley responded to a Sharp Street address where a vehicle left the roadway and struck a parked vehicle.  As the Deputy interviewed the driver, he observed signs of impairment and administered a field sobriety test.  Cole Kruszka, 25, of Springville failed the test and was later evaluated by Drug Recognition Expert Deputy Biegasiewicz.  Following the evaluations, Kruszka was arrested and charged with DWI-Drugs and failing to keep right.  The defendant was released to a family member.
