Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Crash Investigation Unit was called to the scene of a two vehicle head-on crash that occurred yesterday (June 2) at around Noon.

The two female drivers were transported to Erie County Medical Center.  Donna Burkhart, 59, of Clarence, who sustained severe lower leg injuries was transported by Mercy Flight and was listed in critical condition at last report.  Ashley Hightower, 23, of Akron was transported via ambulance with various injuries where she too was listed in critical condition.

The CIU is still investigating the crash.
