Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Detectives were contacted today about a New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) power substation being stripped of approximately 75 feet of copper wiring.

This recent larceny occurred at the NYSEG power substation on Olean Road, near Vermont Street, in the Town of Holland.

This incident adds one to the growing list of power substations targeted by thieves.  The Sheriff’s Office is renewing its call to residents in the areas around the targeted substations to contact the office at 716.858.2903 if they have any information about these recent thefts.

The Sheriff’s Office is also calling on residents to report any suspicious activity and vehicles observed near a substation to their local law enforcement agency
