Deputy locates suspects within minutes of initial alert

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports three suspects in an armed robbery incident that occurred in Cheektowaga Wednesday afternoon were taken into custody near the intersection of Walden and Fillmore avenues in the City of Buffalo.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the Cheektowaga Police Department after that department issued a county-wide law enforcement alert.  The broadcast asked officers to be on the lookout for three subjects involved in an armed robbery of an individual near Genesee and Elwood streets.

Deputy Hoock observed a vehicle, with 3 occupants, matching the description of the car associated with the incident.  Deputy Hoock performed a felony traffic stop and ordered the occupants to place their hands where the Deputy could maintain a visual of the subjects and commanded them not to move.

Within minutes of the felony stop, Detective Lehning and Deputies Soluri and Pauly arrived to assist Deputy Hoock.  The three individuals were taken into custody without incident and turned over the Cheektowaga Police Department.

The subsequent search of the vehicle discovered one (1) weapon and it was also turned over to the Cheektowaga police.

The Cheektowaga Police Department can provide additional information reading the incident.
