K9s and Bomb Squad Swept the Public Safety Building

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports his office is investigating a bomb threat made on Saturday, February 19 at approximately 1:24 P.M.

9-1-1 Dispatchers for Central Police Services received a call where an individual made threats that the building was going to explode.  The Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and two explosive detection K9 teams responded to the building located at 45 Elm Street in Buffalo.

A nearly two-hour search of the building by the K9 teams and Bomb Squad members had negative results.  Deputies deemed the threat was not credible.

The investigation was turned over to Sheriff’s Detectives, and there is no additional information or comment at this time.
