Clarence Crash Kills Driver

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the factors that lead to a one car crash on Tonawanda Creek Road in the Town of Clarence Sunday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:30 a.m., after reports of a vehicle, traveling eastbound, cross over the lane of traffic striking a tree, a fence and came to rest on a lawn.  Deputy Kolmetz was first to arrive and observed five individuals in the vehicle with the driver pinned behind the steering wheel.  The driver was extracted from the vehicle by volunteer fire crews and emergency first aid was given to all subjects.

The individuals were taken to Erie County Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.  The driver, Shelby Adamczak - 19 of Clarence, later succumb to her injuries and the Sheriff’s Office does not have a medical status for the other victims.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and Deputies have not determined any specific factor for the crash.
