Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit raided the lower apartment at 39 Page Street in Buffalo yesterday around 8:10 p.m. and arrested Joel Scinta, 39 years old.

The sheriff’s narcotic unit was assisted by Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit in executing a search warrant signed by New York Supreme Court Justice Timothy Drury.  During the search of the dwelling, the sheriff’s narcotics unit recovered about one ounce of cocaine, over eight ounces of marijuana, two digital scales and approximately $4,000.00 in drug proceeds.

Scinta was arrested and charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a narcotic, intent to sell, and criminal possession of marijuana.  The defendant was also charged with two separate misdemeanors including endangering the welfare of a child (his 5-year-old daughter who lives with him was present) and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Scinta is at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in Buffalo City Court Wednesday morning.
