Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Detectives and Deputies conducted a counter prostitution operation at a Grand Island Hotel Thursday night which resulted in two females being arrested on prostitution and drug related charges.

Ann Canino, 53, of Buffalo and Laure Kane, 37, of Niagara Falls were both arrested after they agreed to perform sexual acts for money.  Following the prostitution arrests, the defendants were searched and Deputies found crack pipes with residue in their possession; both were charged with prostitution and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The defendants were released on appearance tickets for Grand Island Town Court on July 27.
