County Park Ranger Shoved, Subject Arrested

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports deputies arrested an individual on May 28 in Akron Falls Park after the subject refused to obey an Erie County Park Ranger’s lawful orders to stop climbing the falls.

Brandon Taylor, 25, of Newstead, was asked to get down from the falls and ordered to stay off the top but he refused.  When the park ranger, who is a peace officer, intercepted the subject along a trail, Taylor shoved the ranger.

Deputy Kent was dispatched to Akron Falls Park and upon his arrival; the subject denied having photo identification, further hindering governmental administration.  Taylor was finally arrested and charged with obstructing governmental administration and trespassing then transported to the Erie County Holding Center where he posted $200.00 bail and was released.
