Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit conducted its second raid in the City of Buffalo in less than a week. The raid occurred at an Olympic Avenue residence on Monday at approximately 3:20 p.m.
Executing a search warrant signed by New York State Supreme Court Judge Timothy Drury, the narcotics unit recovered over a half of an ounce of crack, a loaded semiautomatic handgun, a loaded 12 gauge shotgun, scales, and packing material.
Anthony Thompson, 34 of Buffalo, a previously convicted felon, was arrested after the raid and he was charged with felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, criminal possession of a narcotic and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The subject was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and several counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
The defendant is housed at the Erie County Holding Center on $250,000 bail and faces an appearance in Buffalo City Court on December 4.
