Suspended Driver and Passenger Found with Marijuana and Heroin

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies Bauer and Rozycki responded to Crittenden Road in the Town of Newstead for reports of a crash with injuries on July 5 around 11:20 P.M.

When the Deputies arrived, they observed the vehicle operated by Alisha Mehl off the roadway where it had struck and damaged a utility pole.  Their investigation discovered Mehl, 22, of Lancaster had three active suspensions on her license and she had an outstanding warrant for assault from Depew.  The deputies also discovered Mehl and her passenger, Seth Esskuchen, 26, of Depew possessed a quantity of heroin and marijuana.

Both subjects were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.  Esskuchen was released on appearance tickets for Newstead Town Court, and Mehl was transported to Erie County Medical Center for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Mehl was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and the Depew Police Department was advised of her status.
