Crash Caused Gas Leak, Driver Arrested for DWI

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies and the Crash Investigation Unit responded to a crash on Regency Drive in the Town of Grand Island Wednesday at approximately 6:40 P.M.

Deputies placed David Adams, 55, of Wheatfield in custody after administering field sobriety tests; a breath test indicated a BAC level nearly twice the legal limit.  The operator was charged with DWI, reckless driving, criminal mischief – recklessly causing property damage, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Adams was released on tickets to a sober third party.

National Fuel Gas crews worked to repair the gas leak and no injuries were reported.
