Deputies Make 3 DWI Arrests in the Overnight Hours

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports his office made three separate DWI arrests in the overnight hours.

January 21, 8:33 pm; Town of Elma – Deputy Zamorek responded to complaints involving a vehicle operating erratically without lights.  The Deputy located the vehicle in a residential area and initiated a traffic stop.  Scott Scarello, 45 of Elma, was determined to be intoxicated and he was charged with DWI, improper vehicle equipment, and making an improper turn.  He was released on tickets.

January 21, 11:07 pm; Town of Clarence – Deputy Carriero observed a vehicle speeding on Transit Road and initiated a traffic stop.  When the Deputy made contact with the operator, the Deputy detected an odor of alcohol and administered field sobriety test.  The operator failed the failed sobriety tests and registered a BAC above the legal limit of .08%, subsequently Richard Parrish, 43 of Cheektowaga, arrested and charged with DWI and speeding.  The defendant was released to a sober third party.

January 22, 2:00 am; Town of Cheektowaga – Deputy Zamorek initiated a traffic stop on French Road.  After speaking with the operator Deputy Nati, a Drug Recognition Expert, was dispatched to the scene for further investigation.  It was determined Michael Bieleski, 43 of Cheektowaga, was impaired by drugs and was arrested.  Subsequent to the arrest, Deputies discovered an amount of crack cocaine in the defendant possession.  Bieleski was charged with DWI – impaired by drugs, speeding, and for an improper turn.  The defendant was released on tickets.
