The Victim Sustained Injuries and Witnesses Observed the Truck Leaving the Scene

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard is seeking the public’s help in identifying a tractor-trailer involved in a hit and run collision that occurred at approximately 11:00 A.M. at the intersection of Transit and Clinton in the Town of Elma on February 26.

The truck was traveling northbound on Transit Road when witnesses observed the tractor-trailer make a right turn onto Clinton Street.  While making the turn, the truck veered into the left lane of Transit Road and struck a northbound vehicle.  The truck was then observed traveling east on Clinton; the truck never stopped.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for a blue or purple-ish cab with a full length, open box aluminum trailer with a canvas cover.  The trailer may have damage to the left side of the box.  Witnesses stated they observed the tractor-trailer dragging something after the collision.

Anyone with information about this collision is asked to call the Erie County Sheriff’s Office at 716.858.2903 and refer to CL# 19-015744.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck by the truck sustained minor injuries and was released from an area treatment center following an evaluation and treatment.
