Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy O’Neil responded to a Genesee Street address in the Town of Alden for reports of a motorcycle on fire inside a garage.  By the time the Deputy arrived the fire had fully engulfed the motorcycle and reached the garage door, the sides and front of the structure.

Deputy O’Neil retrieved a fire extinguisher from his patrol vehicle and began to fight the flames. A neighbor and a member of the Millgrove Volunteer Fire Department provided two additional extinguishers and Deputy O’Neil extinguished the remaining flames.

The Millgrove fire department checked the structure and confirmed the fire was extinguished.

It is believed that a mechanical failure on the motorcycle caused the fire; an estimate for the damage was not provided.
