Deputy Uses Patrol Car Fire Extinguisher to Put Out Fire

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Wood responded to a call for a dwelling on fire on Morgan Street in the Village of Akron around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

 

When the Deputy arrived, he observed leaves and mulch alongside the residence burning.  Deputy Wood utilized a dry chemical fire extinguisher from his patrol vehicle to put out the fire.

 

At the time of the fire, a resident in the upper unit was evacuated until Akron Fire Company checked the area for remaining hot spots.

 

The Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Unit was notified and is investigating the incident.
