Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a minor in connection with an August 2015 burglary where two hand guns were stolen from a Colden residence.

Deputies responded to a Colden residence after it was reported that two handguns were stolen from a gun cabinet.  The incident occurred during a party at the residence and was reported a week later upon the discovery the guns were missing.

An anonymous tip led Detectives to evidence which identified a suspect and the possible whereabouts of the guns.  The Buffalo Police Department executed a search warrant at a Rhode Island Street address where one of the stolen handguns was recovered.

On August 22, 2016, Detectives arrested a Buffalo male for felony counts of criminal possession of a fire arm and grand larceny of a firearm.

The defendant was arraigned in Town of Colden Justice Court and released into the custody of his mother.
