Traffic Stop Finds Numerous Prescription Drugs and Brass Knuckles

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Bauer conducted a traffic stop for vehicle and traffic violations near the intersection of Transit Road and Seneca Street in Elma at 1:17 A.M. on April 14.  During the investigation, Deputy Bauer discovered opioid-based prescription drugs, Xanax, Lorazepam, Suboxone, marijuana and a glass pipe, and brass knuckles on the driver.  Tyler Yohe, 27, of Bradford, PA was arrested and charged with four misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, and marijuana possession.

Yohe was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, and while he was being processed Deputies from the Jail Management Division discovered a crack pipe with residue secreted in his shoe.  A more thorough search of the subject located nearly 2.5 grams of crack cocaine concealed in his buttocks.

Deputy Bauer subsequently charged the defendant with two felony counts of introducing contraband into prison, a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine, and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Yohe is held without bail pending his arraignment.
