Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of Dustin Gothard, 27, of Akron following a search of the area around the scene of a rollover crash.

Deputies responded to a call about an accident on Martin Road in the Town of Newstead Monday afternoon just before 4:30.  When Deputies arrived, the operator had fled the scene but the Deputies had a description of the subject and began searching the area.  At 7:20 p.m., Gothard was taken into custody on Cedar Street.

Gothard was charged with misdemeanor counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, and obstructing governmental administration.  In addition to those charges, Deputies cited Gothard for nine vehicle and traffic infractions including operating a vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle and improper plates.

Gothard is remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment August 16.
