Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports several arrests Friday and Saturday for aggravated unlicensed operation, drug possession, active warrants, and endangering children during traffic investigations. 

December 1, 5:21 P.M., Town of Clarence – Deputy Vogl-Piel stopped a vehicle on Main Street near Clarence Town Park for vehicle and traffic violations.  The Deputy’s investigation discovered Cecil Jones, 44 of Buffalo, has two active suspensions for failing to pay child support.  Jones is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and was later released to a third party with a valid driver’s license. 

December 1, 7:49 P.M., Town of Elma – Deputies Zamorek and Reeves stopped a vehicle on Route 400 after observing vehicle and traffic offenses.  Their investigation discovered the passenger had active warrants from the City of Buffalo for misdemeanor traffic violations.  Tanica Williamson, 31 of Buffalo, was arrested and turned over to the Buffalo Police Department. 

December 1, 8:05 P.M., City of Buffalo – Deputy Bauer was conducting a premise check at the County’s Red Jacket River Front Park when he observed a vehicle in the parking lot; the park is closed due to construction.  When he approached the vehicle, the Deputy observed three occupants and detected the odor of marijuana.  While speaking with the operator, the driver turned over an unrolled wrapper filled with marijuana.  The Deputy’s investigation discovered the two female passengers were 15-years-old and the driver provided a false name.  The Deputy arrested Zeth Pleczyj, 21 of Collins, and charged him with two separate violations for unlawful possession of marijuana and trespassing as well as two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and a misdemeanor count of false personation.  The minors were turned over to family, and Pleczyj was taken to the Erie County Holding Center and is held on $25,000.00 bail. 

December 1, 8:15 P.M., Town of Clarence – Deputies Leuer and Kuhn responded to complaints of an erratic driver along Transit Road.  The Deputies located the vehicle on Millcreek Road and initiated a traffic stop.  Duncan McNeill, 39 of Clarence, showed signs of impairment and Deputy Nati, a Drug Recognition Expert, evaluated the subject.  Subsequently, McNeill was arrested and charged with felony DWI – Leandra’s Law due to his 5-year-old daughter was an occupant, and two vehicle and traffic violations.  The defendant was taken to the holding center pending his arraignment. 

December 1, 11:20 P.M., Town of Concord – Wendiann Reichmuth, 33 of Orchard Park, was stopped on Route 219 for traveling over 80 MPH and throwing a cigarette butt out the vehicle’s window.  When Deputy Szkatulski spoke with Reichmuth, she admitted to possessing marijuana and speeding.  The Deputy conducted a search of the subject and discovered a loose Oxycodone pill.  Next, the Deputy searched the vehicle and discovered a quantity of marijuana, a vial of cocaine, and a glass pipe.  Reichmuth was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a violation for possessing marijuana, and four separate vehicle and traffic infractions.  The defendant was taken to the holding center and later released after posting bail. 

December 2, 1:23 A.M., Town of Lancaster – Deputy Pauly conducted a traffic stop on Genesee Road after observing a vehicle and traffic violation.  While investigating the operator, the Deputy discovered Mark DiFonzo’s license is revoked for failing to pay the Driver Responsibility Assessment fee after a previous DWI conviction.  DiFonzo, 51 of Buffalo, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation and a traffic infraction.  DiFonzo was later released from the Erie County Holding Center. 

December 2, 2:58 A.M., City of Buffalo – Nicholas Porter, 33 of Buffalo, was arrested following a traffic stop by Deputy Bauer near the intersection of Seneca and Bailey.  Porter was found to possess a crack pipe with residue and a wooden pipe filled with marijuana.  Porter is charged with misdemeanor counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle (7 suspensions) and criminal possession of a controlled substance along with violations for marijuana possession and a vehicle infraction. Porter was released from the holding center following his arraignment. 

Porter stated he was on his way to buy more crack. 

December 2, 4:36 A.M., City of Buffalo – Deputy Bauer stopped a vehicle on Peckham Street after observing vehicle and traffic violations.  While speaking with the operator, Deputy Bauer was permitted to search the vehicle.  When Jablonski Solomon, 54 of Buffalo, exited the vehicle and the Deputy searched the subject and discovered a knife and a bag of crack cocaine.  Deputy Bauer next searched the passenger and discovered marijuana and a crack pipe with residue in Felicia Dennis’ purse.  

Solomon is charged with a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine and two vehicle and traffic infractions.  Dennis, 49 of Buffalo, is charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and a violation for marijuana possession. 

Both defendants were transported to the holding center and later released following their arraignment.
