Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Commercial Vehicle Unit is hosting a commercial vehicle safety inspection on Thursday July 7, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on the grounds of Erie Community College South Campus.

The sheriff’s office is joined by members of the Amherst Police Department and the New York State DOT in conducting the inspections of commercial vehicles traveling in the area.  These inspections are to ensure that any commercial vehicle traveling on the road is operated by a licensed and qualified driver; the vehicle has all the necessary safety equipment and is in proper mechanical condition.
