Family Court Warrant Unit Rounds Up 9 Subjects with 15 Warrants

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces the successful completion of a Family Court warrant sweep operation Wednesday, June 1. 

The Erie County Sheriff’s Family Court Warrant and Child Support Enforcement Unit coordinated a warrant sweep throughout Erie County and Buffalo for individuals wanted on active Family Court warrants.  Working from gathered intelligence, tips, and old-fashioned police work, Deputies fanned out Wednesday and arrested nine subjects who had fifteen active warrants between them.  

Arrested in the sweep were:  

  • 27-year-old Sean Smith from Buffalo on a Family Court Paternity Warrant.

  • 48-year-old Joseph Brown from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant.

  • 33-year-old Tyshawn Bush from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant.

  • 32-year-old Juan Olmeda from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant and one Family Court Child Neglect Warrant.

  • 34-year-old John Walden, Jr. from Buffalo on a Family Court Paternity Warrant.

  • 24-year-old Taraya Bibbes from Buffalo on two Family Court Warrants.

  • 31-year-old Jamie Lynn Kile from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant and 4 other drug related and traffic violation warrants out of the City of Buffalo and Town of Cheektowaga.

  • 37-year-old Shawn Martinek from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant.

  • 41-year-old Robert Sniaktecki from Buffalo on a Family Court Child Support Warrant. 

The sheriff’s office has focused its attention on Family Court warrant sweeps as an important tool to combat crime and concentrate on persons who owe child support. 

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is confident that intelligence gathered during the operation will lead to additional arrests.
