Fatal Accident on Route 219 Thursday Morning

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that the operator of a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 219 on Thursday morning died as a result of the injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover crash in the Town of Concord.

Deputy Flowers was dispatched to the crash scene at approximately 6:20 a.m. and when he arrived he observed a vehicle on the shoulder of the expressway.  When Deputy Flowers approached the vehicle he observed the driver still seated in the driver’s seat but he was unresponsive and had noticeable injuries because of the accident.

Concord Volunteer Fire Company EMS personnel and other responders arrived and immediately began first aid on the driver.  The driver, Alfred Ermol – 58 of Buffalo, was transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit is continuing its investigation into the incident.
