Drivers Arrested during ECSO Roving Enforcement Period

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that Deputies made DWI arrests over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.  The added patrols were paid for with funding from Erie County’s STOP-DWI program.

 

November 24, 2:40 A.M., Town of Tonawanda – Deputies Schreiber and Rogers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 190 for violations of New York State vehicle and traffic law.  The operator showed signs of intoxication, becoming uncooperative and refusing to take a breath test.  The operator’s identity could not be validated and he was taken to the Erie County Holding center pending accurate identification.  The operator was later identified as Scott Delisle, 46, of Buffalo; he was charged with DWI and obstruction of governmental administration.

 

November 25, 8:55 P.M., Village of Springville – Deputy Francis observed a vehicle partially parked on a sidewalk along West Main Street.  A field sobriety test was administered to Suzanne Burgard, 41, of Springville which she failed.  The defendant was arrested and charged with DWI, parking on a sidewalk and drinking alcohol in a vehicle on the roadway.  Burgard was released on tickets.

 

November 25, 10:28 P.M., Town of Marilla – Deputy Mulhern stopped a vehicle on Two Rod Road after he observed it driving with all four tires on the shoulder of the road.  When the Deputy approached the vehicle, he detected the odor of alcohol and proceeded to administer field sobriety tests.  It was determined that Lenora Cornell, 64, of Elma was intoxicated and she was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and vehicle and traffic violations.  The defendant was released on tickets.
