Passenger was on Probation for Drug Possession Also Arrested

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Day stopped a vehicle on Main Street in the Town of Clarence for vehicle and traffic violations on December 31, just after midnight.

 

The Deputy’s investigation discovered the operator’s license was suspended and took Daniel Lang, 22, of Buffalo into custody.  While placing the driver in custody, Deputy Day observed a bag of white powder on the floor of the vehicle.  A test showed a positive indication for cocaine and the passenger was also taken into custody.

 

Lang was charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle as well as vehicle and traffic violations.  The passenger, Michael Sweeny, 29, of Clarence was charged with a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine.

 

The defendants were taken to the Erie County Holding Center and later released after posting bail.
