Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of Timothy Cullinan, 20 of Clarence, after a traffic stop for a license plate that was improperly mounted.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. February 11, Deputy Richard observed the front license plate of a passing vehicle hanging toward the roadway.  The Deputy initiated a traffic stop on Harris Hill Road near Sheridan Drive and during his investigation detected the odor of alcohol.  A roadside test indicated the presence of alcohol and a search of the vehicle discovered controlled substance not in an original prescription container.

The defendant was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21, controlled substance in a non-original container and license plate display violation.

Cullinan was released on appearance tickets and faces a future court date In Clarence.
