Resists Arrest and Tries to Kick out Patrol Vehicle’s Window

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Klemp responded to Akron High School Tuesday night around 8:00 P.M. to assist Akron police with a highly intoxicated female attempting to get into her vehicle and leave the parking lot.

The female became uncooperative, argumentative, and began yelling obscenities at law enforcement officers.  Tammy Criswell, 48, of Niagara, was advised to stop yelling or she would be arrested.  Criswell ignored police commands and was taken into custody.

While placing the subject into custody, she repeatedly pulled away from Deputy Klemp and was resisting his efforts.  Once in custody, she was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle where she attempted to kick out the vehicle’s rear window.

Criswell was eventually released to a family member with appearance tickets.  She is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
