Kansas Fugitive Arrest Following Traffic Stop

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Ballantyne arrested Brian Kress after a traffic stop on Route 219 Tuesday afternoon.

 

Deputy Ballantyne initiated the traffic stop along the Town of Boston section of the expressway after observing a vehicle following too close to another vehicle.  During his investigation, it was discovered Kress, 40 of Hamburg, had outstanding warrants from the State of Kansas for marijuana, meth, and heroin charges.  Kress was taken into custody and Ballantyne and K9 Deputy Hayco searched the subject’s vehicle, their search discovered a quantity of marijuana within the vehicle.

 

After the search, Deputy Ballantyne charged the subject with unlawful possession of marijuana and following too close.  Kress was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending his extradition to Sherman County, Kansas.
