Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that a Sheriff’s vehicle was struck and damaged by a passing vehicle sustaining significant damage in the northbound lane of Route 400 near Transit Road.

The Deputy was responding to weather-related incidents when the vehicle struck the patrol car.  The Deputy, out of the vehicle when it was struck, was not injured. Route 400 is currently restricted to one lane while the incidents are being cleared.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging drivers to adjust their speed to the driving conditions and to be careful on area roadways.
