Dealer’s Grandchildren were Home, Loaded Pistol Hidden in Toy

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant signed by Judge Kenneth Case at 38 Junior Street in the City of Buffalo yesterday in the late morning.

 

Once inside the upper dwelling, the Narcotics Unit discovered approximately 4-grams of crack cocaine and a loaded semiautomatic pistol hidden in a motorized toy car.  Present during the search were the subject’s grandson and granddaughter; one approximately 4 years old and the other was less than 2 years old.

 

The Sheriff’s Office charged Shaun Stevenson, 46, of Buffalo with felony counts of criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell, criminal possession of a narcotic, and criminal possession of a weapon.  Stevenson was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two misdemeanor counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia as well as possession of marijuana.

 

Child Protective Services was notified, and the children were turned over to a relative.

 

The defendant is being held at the Erie County Holding Center on $75,000.00 bail.
