Brother & Sister Dealers Arrested in Drug Raid

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports multiple units of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office assisted in an investigation that led to the arrest of a five-time convicted felon and a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive who were selling illegal drugs to individuals throughout Erie County.

During the late night hours of March 21 the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit, accompanied by officers of the Buffalo Police Department, executed a search warrant at a Potomac Avenue residence in the City of Buffalo.  Recovered in the raid were a large quantity of crack cocaine, approximately $18,000.00 U.S. Dollars, and a stolen handgun.

Arrested were Lamel Williams, 38 of Buffalo, and his sister, Latisha Williams, 37 of Buffalo.  Lamel, a five-time convicted felon, is charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell, criminal possession of a loaded firearm, and criminal possession of a stolen firearm.  Included in his charges are misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession, use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Latisha, a U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive, is charged with five separate felony counts which include tampering with evidence, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell, criminal possession of a loaded firearm, and criminal possession of a stolen firearm.  Additionally, she is charged with various misdemeanor counts which include obstruction of governmental administration, marijuana possession, use of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.  Latisha is also charged as a federal fugitive and will be turned over the U.S. Marshal’s Service in the future.

The defendants are remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending their arraignment.
