Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports his office is investigating a hit and run accident in Clarence and is looking for the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle that was involved.

Monday evening a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while they were walking along Shimerville Road between Wehrle and Main streets in the 6 o’clock hour.  The pedestrian suffered a non-life threatening, upper body injury.

Deputies investigating the incident have recovered a passenger side mirror from the scene and have identified the part as a replacement mirror for a Ford Super Duty truck.  Through analysis, Deputies have been able to identify the part as a replacement, aftermarket, mirror and the owner/operator may attempt to replace the mirror with the same after-market part.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for a dark Ford Super Duty truck (includes models F-250, 350, and 450) with passenger door damage and a missing mirrorCollision shops, automotive supply stores, anyone with knowledge of the incident, or traveled this section of Shimerville Road Monday evening is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 716.858.2903.
