Probationer and Friend Charged with Felony Drug Counts

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies Francis and Farina, as well as members of the Sheriff’s Narcotic’s Unit, were dispatched around 12:30 A.M. on December 16, to assist probation officers with a home visit for probationer Elizabeth Weitzel.

 

While in the Boston-Colden Road residence in the Town of Boston, officers discovered a large quantity of marijuana.  Recovered were twenty-six bags of marijuana with a total combined weight of over 20 ounces.  Also discovered were drug paraphernalia covered with a white powdery substance, two shotguns, and four rifles. 

 

Following the search, Weitzel, 57 years old, and Paul Hoffman, 58, of Boston, were arrested and charged with a felony count of criminal possession of marijuana and taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending their arraignment. 

 

The incident remains under investigation, and the defendants may face additional charges.
