Reports of a Drug Deal Result in DWI and Drug Arrests

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two individuals after Deputies responded to calls about a suspected drug deal in the Town of Clarence Thursday afternoon.

Deputy Biegasiewicz responded to a neighborhood off Heise Road at approximately 4:10 p.m. where a description of the vehicle involved in the suspected incident was provided.

The Deputy located the vehicle and two individuals were detained leading to an investigation.  The Deputy discovered a quantity of marijuana and narcotics and charged 19-year-old Patrick Ahlers of Clarence and the 17-year-old driver with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The driver was also evaluated for driving while impaired by drugs and Deputy Biegasiewicz, a Drug Recognition Expert, determined the operator was impaired and subsequently charged him with DWI – Drug.

Both defendants were released to the custody of their parents and will appear in Clarence Town Court at a future date.
