Resident Sitting in the Kitchen Where the Round Entered the Dwelling

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a hunter in Holland following an investigation into a reported gunshot and deer slug striking a dwelling on Sunday, December 10 around 11 A.M.

A citizen approached Deputy Lundberg as the Deputy was monitoring traffic along Route 16 in Holland.  The individual reported a neighbor’s residence, on South Main Street, received a round from a firearm; the victim described hearing a loud noise and observed a metal slug on the kitchen floor.

While searching a field near the residence, Deputies Lundberg and Kelley located a set of footprints in the snow and followed the prints to a residence on South Main Street where they encountered three individuals.  One of the subjects stated he fired multiple shots from his shotgun and his gun was located inside the residence and secured in an assisting New York State Police patrol vehicle.

The Deputies arrested Lukas Cetkovic, 23 of West Seneca, and charged him with two separate misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and reckless endangerment of property.

The Sheriff’s Office contacted New York State Department of Environment and Conservation, and that agency’s officers are assisting in the investigation; DEC charges may be added.

Cetkovic was released on appearance tickets returnable to Town of Holland Court.
