Driver Using a Car without a Court Ordered Interlock

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies responded to a reckless driver complaint on Seneca Street in Elma around 11 P.M. Thursday.  Deputy Hoffman was dispatched to the area of the original complaint when different calls came into dispatch about a crash at Seneca Street and North Star Road.  Citizens stated a utility pole was damaged extensively and wires were down.

When Deputies Hoffman and Carriero arrived the vehicle was burning, and fire personnel were extinguishing the flames.  Deputies located the driver who was safely out of the vehicle, and they began interviewing the operator.  The Deputies’ investigation discovered the operator’s license was revoked for a prior DWI-related conviction.  Michael Parsons, 50 of East Aurora, was arrested and charged with a felony count of DWI-previous conviction, a felony count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor count of circumventing a mandated interlock device, and two separate vehicle and traffic violations.

There were no reports of serious injuries to the driver.
