One of the Largest Drug Money Seizures in Erie County

 

Buffalo, NY - Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced today that the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit executed two search warrants Thursday morning following a Sheriff’s Office investigation. 

 

The first raid occurred at 675 LaSalle Street in the City of Buffalo where forty pounds of marijuana were seized.  A second raid was conducted at an undisclosed Elmwood Avenue dwelling where over $700,000.00 in U.S. Currency was discovered.

 

Arrested and charged following the raid is Demetrius Johnson, 44, of Buffalo.  Johnson is charged with a felony count of criminal possession of marijuana and is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in Buffalo City Court.

 

The defendant is a 3-time convicted drug felon in New York State and a twice convicted federal felon on drug -related charges.
