Sheriff Howard Unveils Special Patrol Vehicle and No Shave to Fight Cancer

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard and representatives from VSP Graphic Group unveiled a special patrol vehicle Saturday in front of New Era Field.  The sheriff’s patrol vehicle is wrapped in pink graphics recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness and honoring survivors of breast cancer.

The vehicle graphics were designed and installed by the VSP Graphic Group who donated the company’s time, material and labor for this worthwhile initiative.

In addition to unveiling of the vehicle, Sheriff Howard announced the “No Shave Challenge” where Road Patrol and Jail Management Deputies and Corrections Officers will be allowed to grow a beard throughout November if the employee makes a $25.00 donation to benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  The unions representing the Deputies and Officers have pledged to match all the donations from the members.

Sheriff Howard also announced the Breast Cancer Awareness vehicle will be displayed in front of New Era Field for the Bills’ game on Sunday.  Fans are welcome to view and take photos with the vehicle but reminded not to sit or climb on it.

The Breast Cancer Awareness patrol vehicle will be assigned to various districts and be  visible to thousands of Erie County residents as a reminder that the fight against breast cancer is on-going.
