Sheriff’s Office Arrest Grand Larceny Suspect

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Detectives have arrested a suspect involved a grand larceny case at a Wal-Mart in the Town of Clarence.

On September 13, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by store loss prevention personnel about a male suspect who left the store with merchandise valued at $1,614.  Although, Deputies were unable to locate the suspect upon arrival, they followed up on information for the possible suspect.

Continuing to work on information about the possible suspect, Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives did to identify the suspect as Richard Ryan, 39 of Buffalo.  Ryan is currently incarcerated at the Erie County Holding Center on charges from other local law enforcement agencies.

The Defendant is charged with a felony count of Grand Larceny and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.  Ryan will be arraigned in Clarence Town Court on January 8.
