Burglars used Brick to Smash a Glass Door, Stole Breast Cancer Donations 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports detectives Parisi, Hanna, and Ferrick arrested two suspects after staking out a location in Elma.  The detectives were investigating a recent string of convenient store/gas station burglaries that occurred in Erie County where the subjects used a brick to smash a glass door to gain entry. 

Working with information developed from their investigation, Detectives were staged in Elma when they stopped a vehicle with the two suspects.  Inside the vehicle, the detectives discovered evidence from the recent burglaries.  Following the stop, Sheriffs’ Detectives arrested James Trala, 30 of Depew, and Phillip Muzzy, 34 of Lackawanna on October 28. 

Trala is charged with felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief – 3rd degree, and grand larceny – 3rd degree and is held at the Erie County Holding Center without bail on a parole violation and a family court warrant. 

Muzzy is charged with felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief – 2nd degree, and grand larceny – 4th degree.  He is held at the holding center on $5,000.00 bail and has an outstanding Family Court warrant. 

Among items the two subjects stole were lottery tickets, cigarettes, cash, and cash donations from a Breast Cancer Awareness collection box.
