Suspect Took 15-year-old with Him during Break-ins

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports detectives arrested Juan Rodriguez in connection with a series of car larcenies in the Town of Concord this past May.

On May 6, Deputy Ballantyne responded to reports of car larcenies where money, tools, and credit cards were taken from vehicles and the cases were turned over the Detective Bureau.

While investigating the car larcenies, where the subject would check doors and enter unlocked vehicles, Detectives developed evidence which led them to Juan Rodriguez.

On October 4, the Detectives arrested Rodriguez, 41, of Buffalo at the Erie County Holding Center where he was being held on charges from the Buffalo Police Department.  The subject was charged with two counts of felony grand larceny, three counts of petit larceny, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child (Rodriguez took a 15-year-old individual with him during the larcenies).

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies are investigating similar incidents and additional charges are expected for Rodriguez.

The defendant remains in the holding center on $50,000.00 bond or $5,000.00 bail. He is scheduled to be in Concord Town Court on October 19.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens to remove valuables from their vehicle(s) and to lock the doors.
