Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies assigned to the narcotics unit arrested a Buffalo male for felony drug possession on February 23 following a traffic stop on the ramp from Route 198 to eastbound Route 33.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on February 23, Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with improperly tinted windows.  The investigation revealed the operator had an outstanding bench warrant issued by Buffalo City Court and, at least, ten active driver license suspensions.  The subsequent search of the vehicle discovered approximately 4.5 ounces of cocaine.

Members of the Narcotics Unit arrested Ephriam Hunter, Jr., 38 years old, and charged him with a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and a felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

The defendant is housed at the Erie County holding Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.

Hunter was also charged with felony unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.
