Victim Sustained Multiple Upper Body Injuries

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports two inmates at the Erie County Holding Center were charged with felony assault after they beat another inmate.

 

On May 10 at approximately 11:54 A.M., Deputies in the holding center rushed to break up a fight in a housing unit.  Deputies pulled two male inmates off a third and took the victim to the medical unit for evaluation and treatment.  Due to the nature of the injuries, the victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center for additional treatment.

 

The incident was turned over to Detectives, and they subsequently charged Samuel Santiago, 25, with a felony count of assault 2nd – while confined in a correctional facility and misdemeanor counts of assault 3rd and obstruction of governmental administration. Santiago was in the holding center pending his transfer to a state correctional facility.

 

Also charged is 29-year-old Donspencer Williams of Lackawanna. He is charged with a felony count of assault 2nd – while confined in a correctional facility and misdemeanor counts of assault 3rd and obstruction of governmental administration. Williams is being held at the Erie County Holding Center on $20,000.00 bail for various charges from multiple jurisdictions.
