Utility Poles Deliberately Cut Along Transit Road

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports his office is investigating occurrences of utility poles along Transit Road in the Town of Clarence deliberately cut with a chainsaw, saws-all or another mechanical saw disrupting power to area businesses.

On December 14, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office was contacted after the Harris Hill Fire Company responded to an incident and discovered a utility pole cut.  Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene and began investigating and while inspecting other utility poles, they were contacted by a New York State Electric and Gas representative about another pole cut.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the suspicious incidents around the area of Transit and Wehrle roads and is asking if anyone has experienced a similar incident, has surveillance video or observed something related to these acts to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 716.858.2903.
