Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports a 2-month long Narcotics Unit investigation culminated in the arrest of a Village of Alden resident.

At approximately 7:30 A.M. on October 6, the Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant signed by Erie County Court Justice Timothy Franczyk at the Exchange Street dwelling of 28-year-old Joseph Jurek.  During the raid, Narcotics Unit members recovered approximately four pounds of marijuana and $3,800.00 in U.S. currency.

Jurek is charged with a felony count of criminal possession of marijuana and is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in Village of Alden Court.

The defendant is also charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child due to the fact his 1-month old child was in the apartment at the time of the arrest.  The Sheriff’s Office notified Child Protective Services for further investigation.
