Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies made five arrests over the weekend for narcotics and weapons charges. 

November 4, 2:38 A.M., Town of Grand Island – Deputy Williams stopped a vehicle on Interstate 190, near the South State Parkway overpass, for vehicle and traffic violations.  The Deputy’s investigation discovered Sherry Seda, 41 of Niagara Falls, was operating a vehicle with a suspended permit.  While placing Seda in custody, Deputy Williams discovered she was clutching a glass pipe with white powdery residue.  

Deputy Bauer and Coniglio arrived and were speaking with the two passengers in the vehicle.  Deputy Coniglio discovered a taser on Teresa Davis, 54 of Niagara Falls, and placed her into custody.  

Seda is charged with misdemeanor counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and displaying a forged certificate without inspection.  She was also cited for operating a vehicle without an inspection and two other vehicle and traffic violations.  Seda was released from the Erie County Holding Center after posting $5,000.00 bond. 

Davis is charged with felony count of criminal possession of a weapon – previous conviction.  Davis is held at the holding center without bail pending her arraignment. 

November 6, 12:00 A.M., Town of Lancaster – Deputies, Bauer, Kuhn, and Williams were attempting to serve a warrant and went to the Knight’s Inn on Transit Road.  While speaking with an occupant of a room, Deputies observed in plain view a bag of white powder, and plastic card, and a paper straw on a piece of furniture.  The Deputies arrested Sidney Cottrell, 26 of Lancaster, and charged him with a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine.  Further investigation revealed Cottrell had two active warrants out of Buffalo, one out of Cheektowaga, and one out of Livingston County.   

Cottrell, who was not the subject of the warrant, is being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment. 

November 6, 2:09 A.M., Town of Boston – Deputy Szkatulski conducted a traffic stop on Route 219 after observing vehicle and traffic law violations.  When he approached the vehicle, the Deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  The Deputies’ investigation discovered the driver, Christopher John – 20 of Salamanca, possessed marijuana.  The passenger, Clayton Jimerson – 21 of Cold Spring, NY, was found to possess an amount of concentrated cannabis, a glass bong containing additional concentrated cannabis, and a bag of marijuana. 

John was released with appearance tickets for possession of marijuana and a summons for a vehicle and traffic law violation.  Jimerson was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of marijuana – more than 25 grams, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Jimerson is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
